Welcome to Villas Ecositas Nosara!

We are located on the beach in one of the most beautiful areas in all of Nosara, in the heart of Costa Rica’s famous Blue Zone.

We offer beautifully hand-crafted timber frame Ecosita bungalows to accommodate a romantic private weekend or week-long getaways, or to craft your own private retreat or event.

Villas Ecositas Nosara is situated on a private 2 acre ocean front property, located at the end of the road in Playa Pelada, so no traffic and no dust. The sound of surf and abundant wildlife permeates the air and the nearly private beach is only a short stroll through the 100 meter protected maritime zone.

Once you arrive at Villas Ecositas Nosara, there is no need to drive as you can walk or bike on the beach to stores and restaurants and all you may need. Within a short walk along the beach you will find some of the best and most consistent surf breaks in all of Costa Rica, along with the most renowned yoga teaching centers in all the world. —Pura Vida

OUR ECOSITAS

Villas Ecositas offers a truly natural environment in which to relax and recreate yourself. Our Ecosita units are handcrafted teak timber frames crafted in the Japanese Tradition using only natural, sustainably harvested materials— stone, timber and natural earthen plaster walls and natural fibers—to provide space to relax, contemplate, or to merely just be, in one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica.

Build Your Own Retreat

The Reciprocal Roof Pavilion at villas Ecositas provides the perfect space to build your own retreat around, be it a yoga or healing retreat or a wedding, family or business function. If you want to discuss the possibilities, please send us an email inquiry.

Planning Your Stay or Event

To begin planning your event or stay at Villas Ecositas, please send us an email through the contact form below and give us a brief explanation of what you have in mind, along with any questions you may have. We are happy to work with you to make everything run smoothly, efficiently and as hassle-free as possible.

Airport Shuttle

We can provide transportation to and from Liberia and San Jose airports with a private shuttle van. Shuttle fees to or from Liberia is $125 and from SJO $200. Prices are each way for up to 5 people.

Beach Side Ecositas

All of the ecositas at villas Ecositas are within 100 meters of the beach, and just about everything you will need, or want to do, can be accessed directly within a short walk along the beach. So, be sure to bring your sun glasses and sun protection, along with your yoga mat and surfboard.

Housekeeping

All of the ecositas at Villas Ecositas are set up and fully equipped for self housekeeping, with laundry services available for guests use on site. For stays longer than one week, we provide housekeeping on a weekly basis. We can arrange for housekeeping services at any time during your stay upon request for a small additional fee.

Private Events

Whether you want to get together for a family reunion or have your wedding on the beach, at Villas Ecositas we can plan and cater your event to meet all of your needs and to exceed all of your desires and expectations. A wedding on the beach, a piece of cake... oh, and we can supply that too!

Catered Meals

Upon request we can provide catered meals for just you and your spouse or partner, and for groups, large or small. From local Tico fare to gourmet dining, we can provide a menu to satisfy every palate. Buen provecho!

THINGS TO DO

Surfing

Some of the best and most consistent surfing waves in all of Costa Rica are within a 5 to 10 minute walk on the beach from Villas Ecositas. If you are an experienced surfer we can set you up with board rentals, or if you are a first time surfer, we can set you up with surf lessons with a local professional surfer. Either way, the waves are right outside your door.

Yoga

Nosara is home to some of the most renowned yoga institutes in the world. Take part in one of the many open-to-the-public group yoga sessions that take place within a 15 minute walk on the beach, or enjoy a morning yoga session right on the beach at Villas Ecositas, by yourself or with a private instructor. Either way, we will help to set you up.

Massage

Have your own private massage in your Ecosita with one of the many renowned message therapist practicing in Nosara. If you have a sports injury or need a structured physical therapy regimine, we have world-class physical therapist who can work with you on a daily or weekly basis to make your time in Nosara one of total healing and well being.

Local Restaurants

Three of the best restaurants in all of Nosara are within a 5 minute walk along the beach from Villas Ecositas; 1) El Chivo Cantina, the most popular watering hole in all of Nosara, with great food to boot; 2) il Peperoni, offering a wide variety of fresh, scrumptious meals and local catch seafood, and hands-down the best pizza in Nosara; 3) La Luna's, where you will want to enjoy sunsets on the beach with your favorite person and drink in hand.

Nosara Wildlife

Villas Ecositas is a strong supporter of both the SIBU Wildlife Sanctuary and the Nosara Refuge for Wildlife. You can support them as well by taking a tour to learn about the local wildlife and to understand all of the issues and efforts ongoing to protect their habitat in the Nosara area.

Horse Back Riding

One of the most popular sunset adventures in Nosara is a sunset horse back ride on the beach. When you stay at Villas Ecositas there is no need to drive anywhere, as we can have horses come right off the beach to pick you up at your Ecosita to enjoy a beautiful, hassle-free, sunset ride on the beach.

"This has been such a wonderful trip to Costa Rica and Steve's home is a perfect base. This house provides a very comfortable set up with truly amazing wood work. The post and beam construction is a work of art. The interior open floor plan flowed smoothly. Although we did not cook meals, we certainly had the equipment we needed for the food we did prepare. The air conditioner kept us very comfortable during the heat of the day. At night we could turn it off, open the windows and listen to all of the sounds around us while resting in a very comfortable bed. We are usually a busy family, not one that will sit on a beach all day. However, that is exactly what we did on several days. After spending hours on the beach in the shade of a tree, we would wonder how the day could be over so quickly. Days were simple and easy going...coffee, yogurt, granola, and fruit on the porch for breakfast, hours on the beach, spectacular sunsets, and back to the porch for rum punch and apps before meandering to one of the local restaurants for dinner. Playa Pelada is a beautiful beach with tide pools at low tide for the small children in our group. Walking the beach either to the north or south allowed plenty to explore, and there were great waves for surfing and swimming as well. La Luna restaurant, Il Pepperoni, and Olgas all cook up delicious meals and are within walking distance. Seekret Spot was a regular stop for ice cream. It has been a truly amazing visit and we hope to return soon. Thank you, Steve, for having us!"
